You can feel it like a weight in your mind - like dread in your heart. You can try to ignore it, and sometimes you might even succeed in forgetting about it for a little while as you become immersed in whatever route you've chosen for escape... But as sooner or later, you have to tare away from your distraction. And WHEN you remember, there is always that brief moment of panic; like you've been stabbed in the chest with something cold. You'll remember that fucking GOD DAMN shadow looming over you, and it will bare its ugly teeth in a snarl, and hiss quiet reminder that you can't hide forever. You compose yourself in a matter of seconds, feeling your breathing tighten slightly. Don't turn around, for fucks sake. You'll deal with this later. For now, you just want to be somewhere else. Oh, how you WISH you could just BE SOMEWHERE ELSE. You can try, but you won't succeed. You won't EVER SUCCEED.
This freaked out a lot of people in my class today
